Buying your wedding dress should be an exciting and fun experience. At The O Zone we are here to help you choose the most important and beautiful dress you will ever wear. Your wedding dress should make you feel confident and transformed.
We like to work six to nine months in advance. If you have less time we will always be able to help but you might not get as much choice of dress or costs may rise as some designers work to very strict deadlines.
Firstly we recommend you telephone to make an appointment to view our sample gowns. We normally allow one and a half hours for your first appointment, which is lots of time to try on as many dresses as you like. It is an opportunity to get an idea of different shapes and styles. We work with you to find the best silhouette for your body shape, giving full consideration to the wedding venue, time of year and your budget. We will then give you a written quote for your favourite gowns. You may wish to return with your family or friends to show off your favourite dress and get a second opinion.
If you really cannot find exactly what you are looking for from our sample gowns, we offer an in-house dressmaking service to create and individual dress just for you.
Once you have decided on "the dress for you", and are ready you place your order, we take your measurements and ask for a 50% deposit. Your dress has now been ordered and you can concentrate on the colour scheme for the bridesmaids/pageboys and, of course, the groom. We are also happy to help dress these important members of your wedding party.
If you have chosen a toile for your bodice/dress, this will arrive approximately four to five months before your wedding. At this stage you need to have decided on your underwear and wear it for your fitting. At this fitting there will be an opportunity to make adjustments and minor design changes to ensure the perfect fit.
Once your dress has arrived (usually two to three months before the wedding) you will be invited for a fitting. You will need your underwear and shoes. Most brides use this appointment to choose a veil and tiara or headdress. The payment balance is now due.
We offer an expert alterations service. Our seamstress has been working with us for ten years and is very experienced in working on bridal gowns.
At the this fitting we will decide if there are alterations to be made. These are pinned and our seamstress will provide you with a quote for the work before she proceeds.
